Iskra’s latest technological innovations in support of global investments for EV charging infrastructure
Wednesday, 5 August 2020
Being at the forefront of the mobility revolution supported by the growth in EV sales, we constantly invent and manufacture high-quality components needed for EV charging stations.
The market is switching to electric cars even quicker than expected. Research1 predicts that in less than 20 years from now, at least 50% of new cars will be electric.
The main reasons for this shift are strongly related to the growing public awareness for environmental problems that currently the world is facing as well as with improved technology that is able to support this EV-switch. Norway seems to be the best example as last year it was reported2 that nearly 60 percent of new cars are electric.
However, the biggest challenge is related to the existing infrastructure that needs to be expanded in order to enable charging for all electric vehicles.
Assuming that millions of electric cars are set to be charged at the same time, this will overload existing power networks.
Governments are already committed to invest in EV charging infrastructure including also the EU Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Directive
requiring countries in the EU to set deployment targets for publicly accessible chargers by 2020, to be revisited in 2025 and 2030.
This is expected to drive further adoption of EV charging infrastructure.
Since EV Charging infrastructure is crucial to sustaining the EV adoption, we at Iskra are constantly developing innovative solutions and components
for EV-charging stations.
For charging stations to be able to operate 24/7 and in other extreme conditions, there is a need for reliable electric components.
Iskra is committed to producing high-quality reliable products ensuring fast charging and maximum availability of charging stations.
Our latest innovation are MID certified Smart Energy meters featuring high-temperature operation and digital signing for a charging event.
