Iskra Shipyard Šibenik has successfully completed testing of the first of seven aluminum vessels commissioned by the Croatian Ministry of the Sea, Transport, and Infrastructure. These vessels are designed for maritime search and rescue operations and are part of the government's initiative to modernize the fleet of the Port Authorities.
Each vessel measures 15 meters in length, can reach speeds up to 40 knots, and has an operational range of 430 nautical miles. The total value of the contract is €13.6 million, awarded to Iskra Shipyard Šibenik as the most favorable bidder in a public procurement process.
This project builds upon Iskra's previous experience in constructing high-speed medical emergency boats, further establishing the shipyard's reputation in producing specialized aluminum vessels for various maritime needs.
