Engine Service

The electric and electronic workshop has built upon the foundation of the former MTRZ (Naval and Technical Refit) "Velimir Škorpik" that specialized in servicing electric and electronic systems of naval fleets.

We currently offer:

• Service of marine electronic systems
• Service of marine diesel engine protection systems
• Repair and service of all types of marine electric motor generators and accessory equipment
• Electric installations for ships
• Testing for electric motors up to 100 kW and generators up to 100 kVA

We are an authorized service provider for navigation equipment GARMIN, generators ONAN, KOHLER, WISPER POWER, as well as an authorized dealer and service provider of, among others, BESENZONI hydraulic systems, WEBASTO, and AIR CON air conditioning systems. 

Our carpenters are accomplished in repairing all types of wooden boats, hulls, and decks. We provide innovative solutions that improve and enhance the repair of wooden boats and boat parts. We manufacture teak wood decks, platforms, gangways, bridges, embarkation ladders, stairs, doors, floors, and masts, perform upholstering, and create furniture covers and rope fenders.

ISKRA SHIPYARD has the skilled professionals and the requisite tools needed to fabricate turnings shafts (up to 1,250 mm in diameter, 9,000 mm in length and 14,000 kg mass work-piece) and carousel turnings (up to 1,600 mm in diameter, 1,500 mm in height and 12,000 mass work-piece).

We have the ability to fabricate CUSTOM MADE PARTS that cannot be purchased, are out of production or are simply not available on the market. We are capable of producing spare parts for all types of engines, machines, and equipment in a very short time period. Finally, we carry out grinding, drilling or reaming, honing, repair by hot metal bonding, and repair by electroplating.

We fabricate marine and other equipment according to shipbuilding standards, designs and patterns: rails, doors, hatches, manholes, portholes, ladders, gangways, mooring and anchoring equipment, deck machines and equipment, cargo handling equipment, tanks, heat exchangers, pipe fittings, valves, piping, shafting, steering gears, electrical equipment.

Our team of Certified Welding Engineers (EWE) is authorized in a wide range of welding services. We apply our extensive experience and high-tech equipment for REL, MIG/MAG and TIG welding to:

• Building diverse types of new aluminum and steel boats
• Fabrication of various steel constructions and stainless steel elements (stairs, railings, and girders)
• Repair welding of grey & steel casting, high & low alloy stainless steel, aluminum & copper alloys

ISKRA SHIPYARD holds the Certificate of Manufacturer Approval from the Croatian Register of Shipping (CSR) for “Field of approval: The ability for performing welding works in shipbuilding repairs and ship-engineering for constructions,” subject to review by the CSR and the EWF European Welding Federation.

We perform Ship fitting, fabrication, and repair of equipment and steel, stainless steel (INOX) and aluminum parts, including:

• Cargo equipment (hatchways, decks, platforms, masts, derricks)
• Ship equipment (rudders, mooring equipment)
• Fabrication and installation of equipment (ladders, rails, gangways, davits)
• Replacement and repair of steel and aluminum hull parts.

All painting is done indoors, in a shed or tent, under constant quality control supervision. Yacht painting covers the entire process from filling and sanding through super yacht finishes, in cooperation with respected partners, and uses world renown paint and varnish products (AWL – Grip, Hempel, Sterling, Dupon, Alex Seal, Boero, International Marine Coatings, etc.). We also provide complete painting of Commercial boats.

We likewise offer Anti-corrosion protection from adverse weather conditions that affect the characteristics and appearance of vessels, such as: High-pressure washing; Desalination; Roto brushing of painted and non-painted surfaces; Sandblasting; Cleaning steel surfaces with mechanical tools up to ST 3 quality; Grit blasting metal surfaces (steel up to the Sa 2.5 level); Painting and polishing with manual tools; Painting with air and airless sprayers; Catodic protection.

We deliver the highest quality of service in the repair of GPR boats and yachts.

We are able to meet all our clients' needs: from partial paint repair and protection of aluminum, steel, carbon and polyester yachts; to painting and varnishing of wooden interior and exterior bases; to maintenance of these bases through polishing and other available paint preservation techniques. Our expert team is always at your service in order to provide you with the best possible solutions based on our proven experience and continuing advancement.

We have the capability to repair and store sails; manufacture all types of sunblinds, tents, bimini and protective awnings, sundeck equipment and leisure parts, cushions, sunbeds, and tarpaulins; create isolation bags for the main engine and generator exhaust, heat and noise isolation; and provide other services according to the Customer’s request.

The Pipe Shop repairs and replaces of all types of pipes, and fabricates and installs complete fuel and oil systems, hot and cold water systems, grey and black water systems and firefighting systems. The most common materials for fabricated pipes include steel, stainless steel, and plastic. Shipyard also constructs pattern pipes and water cooled exhausts, with or without a pattern.
